Dear hopeful reader,
Aside from writing, I also love taking pictures. I especially feel that animals and nature show us wisdom—and they happen to be my favorite subjects to capture on camera.
I love telling stories or vignettes with my photographs, whether through unusual angles or editing. I hope these pictures resonate with your emotional, creative side. Enjoy the writing prompts as well!
Prompt:
Write a poem or story about savoring life’s little moments. Add another character for an interesting dialogue between the protagonist and them. Or write your piece as a monologue full of unexpected observations.
Prompt:
Imagine your shadow living a double life. By day, it repeats what you do. At night, unseen, it leads a lifestyle of its own. Reflect on your unrealized dreams and make them come alive for your shadow self.
Prompt:
Under the sea, life passes differently. Maybe in slow motion or fast forwarded. Maybe today was yesterday and tomorrow will be two weeks from now. Sea creatures have different worries. Envision the sea universe and the daily life of those that swim there.
Prompt:
You’re tasked to write a sequel to The Secret Life of Pets. The first part of the sequel is about doggos doing human stuff. Think about how their 9-to-5 workday would be. Or what they would do if they were to play hooky à la Ferris Bueller's Day Off.
If any of the prompts inspired you to write a poem or story, I would be stoked to read it! Did you capture any photographs recently? I would love to see them!
Yours hopefully,
Nadia
