More back at the throat... you know like in the castle of Aaaaaaarrrgh. Sorry couldn't resist. (Monty Python fan here). But thank you, kind lady, I shall take the compliment and go blush over there.

Hahahahah. It's been a while I didn't watch Monty Python stuff. Life of Brian's my favorite lol!

Of course, it is agreed by all great minds far and wide that "Life of Brian" is the best film ever made in the history of the omniverse, except maybe one other, or two, or on second thought, maybe there are others, be it as it may, in a manner of speaking, if we were to pass a resolution to establish this film as the de facto Gold Standard, then by all means... where was I?

Um. I absolutely loved this piece.

All I could think about, however, was that a thimble is definitely like a lidless box, but it's more like a tiny trash can. You know those 1950's office trash cans where writers throw crumpled pieces of paper with their discarded ideas.

I hope my description of thimble-as-trashcan doesn't ruin the piece for anyone else. I loved the small thimble and the thin house.

Thank you so much for reading, and for the 1950s office trash can reference, Joaquin!

Glad I found this. I don’t know how I like my flash fiction but this one certainly fits. I think I saw the thimble passing by, way up there, this morning.

Absolutely delightful. So much life and character in this. I grinned through it at the dialogue and some of the repetition.

"cluttered with photos of cosmic disturbances..." What a line.

Also got some Murakami vibes in there, the kind of magical realism that seeps through.

Bravo, Pat. Bravo.

Yes! The weaving of the word "thin" throughout the piece was gorgeous. Such a simple word, yet she made it incredibly evocative.
